In season, we provide weekly baskets of produce to a limited number of CSA (community supported agriculture) members here in Fallon. Our "Garden Goddess CSA" is a bit unconventional with most members getting baskets every other week and paying only for baskets recieved rather than paying for the whole season up front. Korena coordinates this program as the "Garden Goddess" via email and phone, arranging who will get baskets each week and where they will pick them up. Sometimes we include items from other local organic farms in order to offer items of special interest or to fill in between crops.
Basic baskets typically cost $25 each and we make sure that you get more than that much value. This week's (September 1st) baskets included heirloom tomatoes, corn, cherry tomatoes, kale, beets, carrots, zucchini, grapes, strawberries, shallots, basil, parsley, cabbage, edible flowers, flower bouquet and a newsletter with recipes and current garden info. We often include fresh eggs but our chickens have been slacking in their laying recently so not this week. Assorted herbs, garlic, eggplant, peppers, melons, cucumbers, and greens are just some of the other possible basket fillers.
Because we keep our membership limited we can cater somewhat to personal prefrences. We can even include special orders arranged ahead of time. In this way, each basket is taylored to each customer.
